Quodega is the latest project of award-winning composer Tom Raybould, whose work as Zwolf and Fist Of The First Man has been released through Rough Trade and Warp Records. The debut LP, ‘The Meanderlux Vessel’, builds on the industrial post-surf-rock of the Welsh Music Prize nominated Fist Of The First Man album, incorporating the intense live drumming of Kliph Scurlock (The Flaming Lips, Gruff Rhys) alongside Raybould’s otherwise self-constructed soundscapes.
Quodega’s cinematic scope and aesthetic draws from Raybould’s extensive soundtrack work; a Welsh BAFTA for indie film The Machine, as well as a nomination in the British Independent Film Awards for feature The Call Up. All tracks were recorded, mixed and mastered by Raybould with drums recorded by Charlie Francis (REM, Future Of The Left). ’The Meanderlux Vessel’ is available on limited edition heavyweight black vinyl in a screen-printed manila sleeve.
The music video for ‘Inflexible Dictates of Fate’ was directed by Roger Graham from Subjective Realities. Roger and Tom shot the video in Brecon Beacons with a Blackmagic Pocket camera and vintage lenses.
